Do you cover my area?

We are based near Smallfield, Surrey, and we will travel anywhere in the country. An additional fuel tariff is charged if the distance exceeds a 40 mile radius. (This can also be relevant to parts of Central London) Please contact us if you are unsure of the distance.

Can you give me a quotation over the telephone?

Yes, we can give you a quote over the telephone but we need a drawing of your kitchen layout in order to get an accurate quote for your granite worktops. You can also specify any other additional extras by completing our online quote form which allows you to attach a digital copy of your kitchen plan.

What do I need to do to my kitchen before you can fit my granite worktops?

You will need to remove the existing worktops. Remembering to have your sink taps and hob (if one is fitted) disconnected. All plastering work should be finished, and the units should be level.

Does the stone vary in colour?

Granite is a natural material therefore we can't guarantee the exact colour or pattern within the stone.
To view some examples of the type of granite we can supply have a look at our granite colours.

Can you see the joins?

All joins are kept to a minimum. The silicon that is used is coloured to match the granite. Our installers have all the skills needed to make sure this is almost seamless

What payment methods do you accept?

We take BACS transfer cash or cheque. A 40% deposit is made on confirmation of the order. We then collect the outstanding balance on completion of your installation.

What would happen if I had to cancel?

On cancellations made before the start of manufacture a charge of £50 pound is to be paid. If the manufacture process has begun the full amount for work done will be charged.

Could there be a delay with my fitting?

In the unlikely event that we cannot make it to a fit on time, we will do everything we can to fit it either later the same day or on a time and date that is good for you. Please call us if you have any problems or queries.

How long before I can use my kitchen worktops?

We normally ask that the kitchen is left for twenty four hours after fitting. The silicon we use is acid free and takes longer than acid based silicon (normal silicon contains acids that can stain the stone).
What is the thickness of your granite worktops?
We use 30mm granite for our worktops.

Do you supply sinks and taps?

We can supply your sink and taps if you feel its easier, but if you are trying to keep costs to a minimum we also have some links to online suppliers.

How long between accepting the quote and fitting the worktops?

The minimum time between giving us the go ahead and fitting your worktops is usually ten days (this has been known to be less in special cases).

What's an up stand?

At 20mm thick and 100mm high an up-stand borders the back edge of your worktops giving a more finished look.

How thick will my window sill be?

Your window sill will be 20mm thick. We find that in some cases 30mm looks to thick.

How tall are your up stands?

100mm is the standard height of an up-stand. This can be cut down to suit your needs at a small cost.

How long before I can us my new kitchen worktops?

We ask that you leave your worktops for 24 hours. This is because we use a non acidic silicon on the joins of your worktops that takes 24 hours to set.

Is it easy to look after granite worktops?

Your granite worktops are just polished to a shine. The reason it polishes so well is because of the density of the stone. There for the granite only really needs to be wiped with a wet cloth and then dried well with a good quality cloth. Stone is slightly porous so we seal it against water. This also greatly reduces the chance of staining your stone as the granite will repel liquid.

Can I have a granite chopping board?

Although we are asked this a lot we do not recommend that you use a granite chopping board. Granite is a very dense stone there for very hard to scratch, but just like a diamond it can easily scratch another piece of granite.

What's the longest single piece of granite I can have?

We do not recommend going over 2.8 meters. This is not only that it is very heavy, anything more than that and there is a chance it can break in transit.

How long will my granite worktops last?

Granite is made over millions of years, so its fair to say it will last a life time.

Can you get any colour ?

Go on challenge me. The suppliers I us are some of the biggest in the country and have a large range of granite with some very special and rare stone.

Do you just do kitchen worktops?

Kitchen worktops are our bread and butter but we have done bathrooms and even a couple of bbq's. So if you have something in mind (and its made of granite) feel free to speak to our skilled staff.
If you have any more questions that needs to be answered please do not hesitate to contact us about any of your granite worktop queries.
